With church bells ringing, paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions descend in and around towns such as Sainte-Mere-Eglise. A short time prior, these young men were students, farm hands, soda jerks, and factory workers.

Now, they will fight for their lives and more- to liberate the oppressed. Soon, across the Atlantic, President Roosevelt will go on the radio and lead the country in a prayer for their safety. He will speak for every citizen and bestow a new title on the young warriors of D-Day.
